Fitness Reality R4000 is a modern recumbent bike with a very sturdy build quality and a set of user-friendly features including a workout goal setting computer with a wide screen LCD panel so you can set your fitness goal and work towards it. The LCD panel displays the calories burnt, time elapsed, current speed, rpm, distance cycled and ODOmeter (there is no pulse rate monitor).You have the three workout settings with elapsed time, distance and calories burned. It is built durable and lab tested before coming out on the market and can carry a total user weight of 250 pounds with its steel frame and people that are between 5’ and 6’3” tall can use it comfortably. With its convenient recumbent step-through design, it is easy to mount and dismount and this is especially great for those with mobility issues.
It offers a total of 14 levels of smooth magnetic tension for adjusting workout intensity rather than 8 of other models in the price range but the level 14 would be very difficult for most people. Fitness Reality R4000 looks more expensive than it actually is, weighs 60 lbs with the measurements of 49 x 22 x 43 inches- not particularly heavy but sturdy and stable. The floor stabilizers are adjustable and will prevent the unit from tipping or shaking during your workout. It includes very large pedals with adjustable straps to accommodate different foot sizes and you can hold on to the soft grip handles on both sides to be able to push harder, but the pedals are built a bit rough so your feet won’t slip and also makes it harder to exercise with bare feet. You have the infinite slider that you can adjust the position of the very large and comfortable seat with the extended cushion with a lower back support. The “Quiet Drive Belt System” will ensure you have a smooth and quiet workout and not get disrupted by any noise from the bike, so you can watch your video or listen to your favorite songs during your workout.
There is an integrated tablet or smartphone holder just in front of the LCD display panel and will easily fit your book, phone or iPad so you do not need to hold them during your session. It seems ideal for those that want a functional and robust stationary bike yet not so expensive, something that they can use comfortably every day. You can stay indoors when it is too cold or hot outside, do your cardio and burn some calories, get your feet moving in the comfort of your home. It is simple to put together in a couple of hours on your own with the clear and easy to read assembly instructions and disposable tools and using a bit of common sense but much easier if someone is helping you out. This is not a super fancy bike with extra bells and whistles but does have a premium feel and appearance for its lower price tag- it is not a high tech bike with a high tech price.
