Marcy NS-40502R Magnetic Recumbent Exercise Bike

Marcy NS-40502R is a modern recumbent exercise bike with magnetic resistance and eight resistance levels. It is currently one of the more popular recumbent bikes at Amazon.com. You can expect performance, functionality and durability and should last you a long time.

This stationary recumbent bike has a premium quality heavy-duty steel frame, but is designed for home use and not commercial gym use. It offers eight levels of magnetic resistance that can be adjusted easily via the tension knob. And the higher levels may be more challenging and you should start at lower levels and move up gradually.

There is a multifunctional smart LCD display panel that shows the calories burned, distance traveled, current speed, time exercised and odometer. It is easy to read as you’ll see your info or stats in very large numbers on the sharp screen. The large and comfortable seat with the backrest is adjustable for height for the length of your own legs. And the seat to pedal distance can be adjusted between 26 and 31 inches.

It is easy to put together with the tools and instructions in the box and measures 43.5 x 56.75 x 25 inches as assembled- is compact in size. It is designed to conform to your body and allow you to get the optimal results from your workout. The ergonomic handles have the vinyl foam padding and offer good grip for a better hold of the steel handles by your hands. You can expect the same type of workout and stable feel that you’d get from the larger or expensive bikes.

Marcy Recumbent Bike has a maximum user weight capacity of around 300 pounds in theory, thanks to its heavy duty construction. People with weights up to 350-400 pounds seem to use it comfortably without any problems. Please note that the backrest on this recumbent bike can not really be adjusted except Marcy NS-40502R Magnetic Recumbent Bike for a slight tilt and stays fixed at all times. Having said that the seat is comfy overall with the height and horizontal adjustments. You can hold onto the front handles if you’re leaning forward and the ones on the sides if you’re sitting back.

You’ll be targeting slightly different muscles and there will be more pressure applied on your core section- abdominals when you’re leaning forward. The smart screen doesn’t save different users’ data. To be able to move the seat forward and back you need to loosen the knob just under the seat. If you have joint or knee issues you can mount and dismount this recumbent bike easily. One of the customers commented on the noise level each time it does a cycle, but it is about the way it was put together and is specific to the bike they purchased.

There are no heart rate sensors on the handles of this bike and you can’t view your heart rate during your workout. The difference between the lower and higher levels of resistance is reported to be not significant on this bike. But it is certainly a great stable bike for everyday use. There is no doubt you’ll get your money’s worth from this very sturdy and durable bike: Heavy duty steel frame and good quality components, modern appearance, relatively compact size, reliable indicators on the display panel, ease of use, quick assembly, quiet operation, functionality and more at a fair price. You can return this bike within 30 days of your purchase if you encounter any problems or are not happy.
