With a few exercises it can feel a little awkward at first but there are ways around things and you can comfortably do exercises like overhead tricep extensions and seated wrist curls by holding the outer handles with two handles for example and hold the inner handle with other things. You can use one bar in the middle or two bars when you’re doing tricep curls, for instance. It has plastic pins and not likely but if broken the whole unit may become non-usable and you will need to obtain a new pin from the manufacturer and you may hear some subtle noise when you work out with two or more weights as long as you put the bar in one section on both sides correctly and will not interrupt your music or TV. These are solid and robust dumbbells with great weight variations, taking up very little space even though they are not very cheap. Very big handed people may find it hard to fit their wrists but most people will be fine. They feel secure and stable and they won’t move, slip or shake when you’re working out and thanks to the square design dumbbells won’t roll on the floor.
