Stamina Avari Programmable Stepper A400-300
Stamina Avari Programmable Stepper A400-300 is a high-end fitness equipment that is designed to give you an energizing and uplifting workout, while burning calories, strengthening your buttocks, calves, thighs, hips, lower abdominals and lower back. It can be used by people at any fitness level as it allows them to adjust the resistance levels easily and to set their own pace so beginners are better off starting slower and moving up to more challenging steps.
The movements feel quite smooth with the motorised resistance that is easy on your knees and joints and can be adjusted manually to decrease or increase intensity or with the preset programs any time during your workout but will take up to 5-10 seconds to change the setting and you can monitor your heart rate on the large LCD panel via the sensors on the comfortable padded strong metal handrails on both sides. The handrails feel comfy to hold as they are padded nicely and the foot pedals are large and self-levelling both of which add comfort and stability. Maximum user weight it can carry is 300 pounds, which should cover most adults, weighs 147 pounds as a heavy duty fitness equipment and has the dimensions of 42 x 40 x 59 inches as assembled.
You can choose from 20 different workout programs with 4 customised user programs on the InTouch monitor that is designed to keep you on track by letting you monitor all the necessary indicators- the standard speed, calories, distance, speed, scan and pulse rate that you may see on cheaper models but also the additional indicators like BMI, rotation per minute, body fat percentage, watts, target heart rate, date, room temperature, time, date and more (time and date reset after power cuts as there is no battery back-up but this shouldn’t be a major issue for most).
It is easy to put together in under an hour if you have someone else helping you with assembly, is simple to operate but the smart computer software can feel a little puzzling at first, works quietly without interrupting with whatever you may be listening to or watching on TV during your workout, feels premium, robust and very well built. When you’re done with the stepper you can move it out of the way on its transport wheels until your next workout session. Someone commented that the LCD panel is not backlit but do you ever actually work out in a dark room? Pedals can touch the floor when you first start out and then they pick up very quickly in just a few seconds. The steppers you see at gyms can cost several thousand dollars so this is budget priced in comparison although it may seem expensive at first and we believe it is pretty decent value.
