It is offered in two formats of the 50-70 pounds expansion kit (EL-ST2-70) and the 70-90 pounds expansion kit (EL-ST2-90).
The Elite 50 set goes from 50 to 70 pounds with the adder weight increments of 2.5, 5, 7.5, 10, 15, 17.5, 20, 25, 27.5, 30, 35, 37.5, 40, 45, 47.5, 50, 55, 57.5, 60, 65, 67.5 and up to 70 pounds for each hand. The extra increments achieved by the 70-90lb. set are 75, 77.5, 80, 85, 87.5, and 90 lbs for each hand. It adds 6 extra increments to the 50-pound set and the 70-pound dumbbell set will replace 22 pairs of dumbbells.
You can expand it later to 90 pounds. And the 90-pound PowerBlock Set will replace 28 pairs of dumbbells. This 50 to 70 dumbbell expansion kit replaces an extra 750 pounds of free weights and the 70-90 set has the additional 990 pounds of free weights. For those of you familiar with the Classic 50 Plus Set, there are three differences between the two: Elite 50 is 6 inches wide, while Classic 50 is 6.25 inches. Elite 50 can be expanded up to 130 pounds while Classic 50 up to 70 pounds. And you have the 2 x 2.5-pound adder weights on the Elite 50.
Each dumbbell on the Elite 50 Set has the two 2.5 lb. small rods inside the handle if you want to use them as light dumbbells for a warm-up or a light workout without any added weights. It takes about 15 seconds to add or remove the weight increments for each side of the PowerBlock dumbbells:. You need to unslide the pin, remove the handle, open it, add in the weight, place the handle and slide the pin 
back into the right slot. The chrome cylinder weights can move a little- clank inside the handle sleeve, causing a light noise which is not too bad.

Without the expansion to 70 pounds from 50, each dumbbell already comes with the 2.5 to 50 pounds already on them.
