Nautilus R614 Recumbent Bike Review

Nautilus R614 Recumbent Bike

Nautilus R614 Recumbent Bike

Nautilus R614 is a great quality high end recumbent bike that uses cutting edge technology to give you the best of functionality, different levels of workout challenge and intensity with the 20 levels of computerised resistance and a total of 22 exercise programs, at a fair price. It is similar to the Schwinn 230 recumbent bike but looks more modern and has some additional features. You can track your progress on its high tech dual track LCD panel that includes two high-res LCD displays that also lets you watch TV, includes very good quality acoustic chambered in-console speakers with an MP3 input so you can listen to your exercise music to keep motivated, has the USB media charging as well as an adjustable (but not so powerful) 3 speed fan and a water bottle holder. It is very comfortable to exercise on with its ergonomic design of contoured seat with lower-back and greater lumbar support and relaxed body positioning (will accommodate people of different heights up to more than 6’) to get the best results from your workout.

There is a tablet or mobile holder and you can put your tablet on there and continue viewing your results on the lower display. You will monitor your progress on the display but your data- calories, distance and time goal tracking will also be put on the Nautilus Connect and MyFitnessPal to track your goals. 22 workout programs are categorised in three groups of Challenges, Fun Rides and Mountains, and include two custom, two fitness tests, eight heart rate controls, nine profiles and a quick start. Set your goals and cycle at intensity and speed levels that suit you best, without the auto adjustments. If you enter your age into the panel your maximum heart rate will be calculated automatically and then select a percentage of this indicator to have as your target. You can even monitor your fitness level by the fitness scores assigned, comparing your heart rate and watts output considering your weight and age. It starts up and runs quietly and smoothly, offering you consistent and efficient workouts thanks to the high speed and high inertia drive system with the perimeter weighted flywheel- Eddy Current Braking (ECB). You have the pulse rate indicator- touch sensors connected to the grip heart rate or wear the chest strap that is telemetry enabled.

Nautilus R614 Recumbent Exercise Bike

Nautilus R614 weighs roughly 84 pounds , supports up to 300 pounds of user weight and measures 64 x 27 x 50 inches but there is a handle at the rear and transportation wheels so you can move it easily in your house. You may be familiar with the R616 model, this one is the cheaper version with slightly less features (R616 has 25 resistance levels, Bluetooth, larger foot pedals and the LCD display is backlit which makes it much easier to see) but it still has quite a lot going for it for the price level. You have a great adjustable variable low and high intensity and low impact workout option here on a sturdy, solid and premium machine with a walk-through design on its low frame profile. For added stability it includes levelling feet underneath the crossbeam and base stabilizers and with just some quick rotations you will be able to adjust it to the uneven floor. Generally speaking, user manuals are often criticised by customers but this is not so much the case with the R614 as Nautilus seems to have done a great job by creating a detailed and easy to understand manual that will help you set it up, use and maintain and the necessary tools are included in the package for you to set up- bulk of frame is already installed and you may need some help from a second person for the rest and you should be able to do it in less than an hour. Warranty is quite generous and you will be getting 2 years for the mechanical, 1 year for the electrical, 10 years for the frame and 90 days for the labor.
